Apple will reportedly issue new smartphones in colourful casings – three in one-tone: pink, yellow, blue; and the rest in two-tone: white & silver and black & slate. These new handsets will be called iPhone 5S and are set for a June 2013 release.
Rumour has it that the California-based tech company is already discussing the moves to develop and launch bigger screen for iPhone 6, in 4.7 and in 5.7 inch screens, next year to expand their smartphone range.
According to unnamed sources cited in some reports, Apple is already looking at revealing at least two models of iPhone 6 with bigger screen this coming year, one with a 4.7 inch screen and one with a 5.7 inch screen. The sources said that suppliers including those in Asia have already been approached for Apple's plans to produce iPhone 6 with bigger screen.
However, it is still not clear if Apple Inc will actually be launching its flagship products in larger dimensions. "They constantly change product specifications almost to the final moment, so you're not really sure whether this is the final prototype," told by one of the sources.
Aside from changing the dimensions of the iPhone 6, Apple Inc is also thinking of launching a new iPhone that will be cheaper and will be available in different range of colors, the sources added.
It seems that Apple is taking the following moves in order to keep up with the current market trend as well as the competition in the smartphone market. Apple's rivalSamsung overtook the former's market share by releasing revolutionary products, including a phablet with massive screen display as well as a wide array of products in various prices.
The next iPhone is rumoured to feature Retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera, and longer battery life. The lack of NFC support on the iPhone 5 was one of the biggest criticisms aimed at Apple's smartphone.
Meanwhile, the cheaper iPhone 5S is rumoured to sport a plastic casing, 4-inch screen display, dual core processor and 8-megapixel camera.
It is initially reported that the new iPhones will be launched in June along with the upgraded iOS. However, other reports stated that the devices will make its debut in September.
The Apple chief Tim Cook also dropped several hints that the upcoming iPhone 6 and 5S will be released later this year. Cook said that no new products are to launch before the end of the year.
However, the Cupertino-based tech company did not give an official statement on the rumours surrounding iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S.
